The Red Tent is an entertaining and inspiring program for women created by nationally recognized dancer, teacher and Arabian Night's event producer Laura LeRoy, known professionally as Zohar, with offices in New York City and Scottsdale. The art of Middle Eastern dance and a performance by Zohar with veils, finger cymbals, exquisite costumes and live drumming will give participants a body, mind and spirit workout while enhancing their grace and sensuality. This holistic "Playshop" incorporates mesmerizing music from the Middle East with yogic warm-ups, meditative flowing movements, vibrant hip shimmies and core (belly) empowerment exercises. It is guaranteed to be a stress-busting, playful, energizing and bonding experience for all who attend. A real red tent with oriental carpets, palm trees and sweets provides the perfect backdrop for this exciting event. The Basic Package: Introduction to the ancient history of Middle Eastern dance from harem girls to Goddesses with a dance performance followed by a dance workout and an explanation of the basic meanings and movements of the dance with veils, coin belts, and finger cymbals provided.
